Blairsville Demos
Blairsville Scottish Festival & Highland Games will take place the weekend of June 11-12, 2022. A map of the games site, the dances that may be used during demos, and a schedule of the games events are at the bottom. The games are well run and there’s something for everyone; you can check them out at http://blairsvillescottishfestival.com/. We don’t try to dance all the dances on the cheat sheet, just those that most of the dancers are familiar with. There are also several audience participation dances listed.
We are scheduled for two demos on Saturday and three on Sunday. The first demo on Saturday is at 10:00 am and the second one is at 3:00 pm. We will be sharing the platform with the highland dancers and the bagpipe workshop on Saturday. The first demo on Sunday starts at 11:00 am and the others are at 1:15 pm and 3:00 pm. Our times on the schedule are highlighted in yellow and the other groups performing at the Dance Pavilion on Saturday are highlighted in green. It appears that we are the only group performing at the pavilion on Sunday.
Our normal demo attire for the demos will be – ladies: dark skirt, white top, and sash; men: kilt, and short sleeve white shirt.
After the last demo on Saturday, we will be going to Steve’s Steakhouse/Cookie Jar restaurant for dinner and you are welcome to join us. It’s a tradition and they have a very nice buffet.
