SUMMARY:2023 Grandfather Mountain Highland Games
DESCRIPTION:Grandfather mountain highland games is one of the largest highland games held in the US.  The games first formed in the late 50s and have been held annually since the 60s.  The Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School meets the week proceeding the games.  A ball will be held the coincide with the games.  Dance events are being planned on the mountain during the games.  More details of games events will be provided as they are finalized.

SUMMARY:2023 Spring Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Cartersville for a weekend of dancing.  The weekend starts with a welcome dance on Friday evening.  Live music will be provided by Mara Shea\, Julie Gorka\, and Tom Pixton.  On Saturday\, instruction will be provided by Kate Nealley during the day.  A ball will be held Saturday evening with an afters-party to follow.  There will be a brunch on Sunday morning.  Dancing will take place at the Olin Tatum Building of the Etowah Valley Historical Society and in the Stiles Auditorium with a nice wood floor.  Cartersville is a vibrant community just north of Atlanta.  Cartersville is just off I-75 and very accessible. \nFull details of the workshop can be found here on the RSCDS Atlanta web site:  https://rscds-atlanta.org/2022-spring-work

The venue has changed as well and will now take place at St. James Episcopal Church\, 161 Church St. in Marietta. \nVaccinations will be required for all dancers for the health and safety of everyone involved. Vaccination cards will be required for all dancers to participate. \nThis class is for all levels. It is not necessary to bring a partner and no special equipment (other than comfortable clothing and a pair of soft-soled shoes) is required.
